Location The city of
Granada, one of the most Spanish beautiful cities, is located in the region of
Andalusia and is in south-eastern Spain. Tourism and the University of Granada
are its most important resources, and with only two hundred and fifty thousand
permanent residents, the city is host to more than sixty thousand university
students each year. It is also one
of the most popular destinations in the EU Erasmus programme. The Alhambra and
the Albayzín, situated on the two parallel hills which follow the course of the
River Darro are the historic areas with the greatest wealth of monuments. The
city offers the visitor a large number of beautiful places where it is possible
to enjoy its past Nazari culture. Two beautiful pictures of the

Summer School Venue The University of Granada is an extremely old establishment which was founded in 1531. With a very large tradition in science and humanity courses, it has also incorporated a large number of technological courses over the last twenty years. The E.T.S.I Informática y de Telecomunicación (ETSIIT) school is where students can study computer engineering and telecommunications engineering. This centre was created in 1992 and has very modern computer facilities. The Summer School will be held in this building. The address of the ETSIIT is: Calle Periodista Daniel Saucedo Aranda s/n. This street connects the Periodista Eduardo Molina Fajardo Street and the Periodista Rafael Gago Palomo Street (see map ). It runs parallel to Avenida de Andalucia (on your right going from Granada towards the airport) and is on the outskirts of the city. The ETSIIT is very well connected with the city centre and is on bus routes 6, 9, and 22 (see map, fullmap). All of these stop less than two hundred metres from the main ETSIIT entrance. It is also possible to walk and this will take around 20-30 minutes from Plaza del Triunfo. |
